The Universal Declaration of Human Rights is a resolution adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on 10 December 1948 in Paris, consisting of 30 articles articulating individual rights and freedoms. It was the first document of its kind adopted by an international intergovernmental body and has served as a reference text for subsequent international human rights treaties and national constitutions.
