Zoroastrianism, as stated, ancient-present
Ancient / Classical · stated scope
Zoroastrianism is a religion founded on the teachings attributed to the prophet Zarathustra, centered on the worship of Ahura Mazda as the supreme deity. It originated in the Iranian plateau, with scholarly estimates for its founding ranging from approximately 1500 BCE to 600 BCE, and it served as a state religion under the Achaemenid, Parthian, and Sasanian empires. Its principal texts are the Avesta, including the Gathas, and its doctrinal framework includes a cosmic dualism between forces of truth and falsehood, concepts of judgment after death, and eschatological themes.
