The short version. We store your email address so you can sign in, the answers you give in the survey and the scores made from them, and an optional display name and share link if you choose to create one. We use Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics to understand how the site is used. We do not sell your information.
What we collect if you sign in. Your email address, held by our sign-in provider (Supabase) and used only to send sign-in links. Sign-in emails are delivered by Resend, which processes your email address for that purpose only.
What we collect if you take the survey. Your answers and the scores calculated from them. If you do not sign in, your answers stay in your browser’s local storage on your own device and we never receive them.
What we collect if you choose to share. An optional display name and a share link.
What we collect from everyone. We use Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics to count visits and understand which pages are used. Google Analytics sets cookies on your device and collects information including an approximate location derived from your IP address, your device and browser type, the pages you view, and how you arrived at the site. That information is processed by Google and may be used by Google in accordance with its own terms. Vercel Analytics does not set cookies and does not identify you.
What we do not collect. No real name is required. No address, no phone number, no demographic details, no payment information.
Cookies and local storage. Google Analytics sets cookies. The survey uses your browser’s local storage to hold your answers on your device so that you can leave and come back. Signing in uses a session token. You can clear cookies and local storage through your browser settings at any time, which will sign you out and discard any unsaved answers. You can opt out of Google Analytics on every site you visit using Google’s browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Why we collect it. Your email address is used to let you sign in and nothing else; there is no marketing. Your survey answers and scores are used to show you your results, let you return to them, and let you compare yourself with profiles. A display name and share link are used only if you create one, to label your shared results. Analytics is used to understand how the site is used and what to build next.
Who we share it with. We do not sell your information and we do not share it for advertising. We use these providers, each handling only what its function requires: Supabase for the database and sign-in, Resend for sending sign-in emails, Vercel for hosting and page-level analytics, and Google for analytics.
How long we keep it. Your account, answers, and scores are kept until you delete them or ask us to. Retaking the survey replaces your previous answers and scores completely. Analytics data is kept according to our provider settings, currently 14 months.
Sharing is off until you turn it on. Your results are private to your account. If you create a share link, anyone with that exact link can see your results, and your display name if you have set one. Share links are live: if you retake the survey, the link shows your new results.
Retaking and deleting. Retaking the survey replaces your previous answers and scores completely. You can also delete your data entirely, which removes your account, your email from the sign-in system, and everything stored about you.
Children. The site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
